Precision Requirements for First Match-Casting Project
The West Edmonton Valley Line LRT Elevated Guideway required a high level of precision and quality control as Eagle Builders’ first short-line match-casting project. The scope included producing consistent, accurate segments while supporting station structures and integrating architectural elements along the guideway. Achieving tight tolerances and maintaining alignment throughout production were critical to the success of the project.

Accurate Production Supporting Transit Infrastructure
the result
To meet project requirements, the shop floor was renovated to a maximum deflection tolerance of 1 mm, ensuring precise segment geometry throughout production. The project includes the West Edmonton Mall and Misericordia stations with NU girders and box girders supplied for structural components. Along the guideway, precast walls incorporate artwork cast directly into the concrete using formliners, reflecting designs by local Edmonton artists and contributing to the overall visual presence of the transit corridor.
